​Tom Thomson was a Canadian artist who lived from 1877 to 1917⁴. He was known for his paintings of the Canadian landscape, especially trees, skies, lakes and rivers²³⁴. He was an early inspiration for what became the Group of Seven, a group of Canadian painters who shared a similar style and vision¹³. He died under mysterious circumstances in Algonquin Provincial Park at the age of 39⁴.
