Dürer's most famous works are his copper engravings, which include the "Knight, Death, and the Devil," "St. Jerome in His Study," and "Melencolia I." These works are characterized by their intricate details, rich textures, and mastery of perspective. They are considered some of the greatest masterpieces of Renaissance art and are still highly regarded today.
In addition to his engravings, Dürer was also known for his paintings, particularly his portraits. He was one of the first artists to use oil paint as a medium and his portraits are considered some of the most naturalistic of the time, capturing the individuality and psychological depth of his sitters.
Dürer's influence on the art of his time was profound, and he had many followers in Germany and beyond. He was also one of the first artists to establish a workshop, which allowed him to produce a large number of works and to train students in his techniques.
Today, Dürer is widely regarded as one of the greatest artists of all time, and his works are held in many of the world's leading museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Alte Pinakothek in Munich.
