What a crazy trip we went on!!!!

​We started with the Sliced Images 'Left Hand' - Park, Chan Girl, 2006, which led us to look at this video (or a very similar video) of David Cerny's sculpture of Franz Kafka https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfUQzo6racg.  This sent us down the David Cerny rabbit hole.  To see what we saw, google "David Cerny" and look at some of his crazy sculptures.  We also watched some of a video of a sculpture being installed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3yEuFNYrAY  (By the way, the sculpture of the 2 men peeing moves!!)

Then we got back to a normal random day...until we got to 13 Attempts to Become a Rooster - 13 - Wolfgang Lettl, 1978.  This led us to clicking on his name in Google Arts and Culture and looking at his amazing surreal art.   


What a crazy day!!!

  Top of the Day is the Alexander McQueen & Damian Hirst Scarves collaboration, butterflies & skulls. Alexander was an avant-garde fashion designer & Damian an artist who pushes the boundary of what art can be. This collaboration is such a delicate beauty & so surprising if you know they work. Please check out the YouTube video below that shows the movement of the fabric on actual people! We saw Yves St. Laurent's tribute to Piet Mondrian's colorful forms & artwork from 1965. Mondrian's original painting and the inspiration for the dress is Composition with Large Red Plane, Yellow, Black, Grey and Blue from 1921 and is included in the links. Today was a celebration of Public Art in the form of the Buddy Bears, Cow Parade & Manatee Mailboxes because we needed some JOY!!!!  Carmen Miranda Manatee!
