Today we looked at crazy houses as art! First up -- a Seashell House in Isla Mujeres, Mexico made us all want to build a poolside guest house! Or just move in! There are lots of nautical detail to this house. The conical shell shape makes a striking visual. It was also our Top of the Day!

We visited the Reverse House in Malaysia then a bunch of upside down houses all over the world. Who on earth would live there, many of us queried! Balance issues be danged! 

One of our sleuths found a bunch of interiors of these houses after some of our group inquired about interiors. Lots to look at ... quite a few upside down rooms with owners, visitors or renters appearing to dance along the ceilings!

We followed that with a beautiful Japanese Tea House high in a tree overlooking exquisite Cherry Blossoms. The link provided shows a lot more of the interior. It looks quite roomy and you can see the table and tea prep area. We'd add an elevator! 

House on the Flight of Birds on St. Michael Island off Portugal was the first of three modern gems. Sloping walls & massive windows look out into 

Next up a spaced-out, ship-shaped house that looked like it might fly off at any moment. Set in the Barvikha Forest near Moscow - it was designed by Zaha Hadid, an Iraqi woman who founded a highly successful architecture firm with buildings all over the world. She passed away in 2016 but she left so many monumental, literally!, pieces of art for us to enjoy. 

Lastly we saw the H3 house in Athens, Greece -- highly modern but with more livable angles for many of us! 

Looking forward to more mystical & fable-type houses tomorrow!!

    Any one remember Woody Allan's House in If I remember correctly "Bananas"
    The actual house over looked the Highway between Denver and Vail.
    Used to pass it during my second childhood when I was skiing with a bunch of of middle aged teen wannabees.
    The house had been abandoned by the 70's. I do not know if it has been torn down,

  Top of the Day is the Alexander McQueen & Damian Hirst Scarves collaboration, butterflies & skulls. Alexander was an avant-garde fashion designer & Damian an artist who pushes the boundary of what art can be. This collaboration is such a delicate beauty & so surprising if you know they work. Bears, Cows & Manatees, Oh My!

Today was a celebration of Public Art in the form of the Buddy Bears, Cow Parade & Manatee Mailboxes because we needed some JOY!!!!  Carmen Miranda Manatee!
